From the recording Fulangach
Maol Donn is the fifth release from Fulangach (Resilient), Fiùran’s 4th album.
Maol Donn is our version of a wee piece of MacCrimmon's Sweetheart, an ancient pìobaireachd (classical bagpipe tune) and is a story of our love for and dependence on animals, in this case the fatal loss of a beloved cow to a hole in a bog. A cow was for many people the most valuable thing they owned, even more expensive than a house. Therefore the loss was serious both financial and emotional.
Maol Donn was arranged and composed by Fiùran ©2020.

Lyrics
Lyrics (Gàidlig/English)
Cha bu shealbhach dhomh d'fhaotainn
It was not fortunate for me to get you
'S e mo ghaol a' Maol Donn
My dear, my Maol Donn
Cha bu shealbhach dhomh d'fhaotainn
It was not fortunate for me to get you
'S e mo ghaol a' Maol Donn
My dear, my Maol Donn
Cha bu shealbhach dhomh d'fhaotainn
It was not fortunate for me to get you
'S e mo ghaol a' Maol Donn
My dear, my Maol Donn
Ga d' iarraidh 's ga d'fhaotainn
Searching for you and finding you
'S ga d' shlaodadh a poll
And pulling you out of a bog
